Supporting Seniors in Cameroon: LAFTA Hosts Donation Ceremony in Nkom-Ndamba

LAFTA continues its mission of supporting seniors in Cameroon through community outreach and charitable initiatives. On January 11, LAFTA organized a donation ceremony in Nkom-Ndamba, a village in the Lékie region, bringing together community leaders, local officials, volunteers, and more than 200 senior beneficiaries.

The event highlighted the importance of caring for and uplifting seniors within the community. Traditional authorities, administrative leaders, and representatives from the organization gathered to show their support and appreciation for the work being done.

During the ceremony, His Majesty NNANGA, the village chief, expressed his gratitude to LAFTA for their efforts and for the attention given to the seniors of the community. Prince Théophile Kwendjeu, a volunteer with LAFTA, shared more about the organization and the work it continues to carry out to support vulnerable seniors.

The organization’s Founder, Mrs. Elisabeth Makwang Mofor, also addressed the attendees and emphasized the importance of collective support. She encouraged individuals, organizations, and community members to contribute so that LAFTA can continue expanding its efforts and reaching even more seniors in need.

In a show of support for the organization’s work, the Mayor of the municipality of Obala announced plans to provide office space for LAFTA, helping strengthen the organization’s ability to operate and serve the community.

The ceremony concluded with a festive atmosphere as donations were distributed to the seniors in attendance. Moments like these reflect LAFTA’s continued commitment to showing respect, care, and appreciation for elders within the community.

How you can get involved

LAFTA welcomes individuals, organizations, and community partners who want to support future initiatives. Donations of funds or supplies play an important role in helping the organization continue hosting events and providing assistance to seniors in villages across Cameroon.

Those interested in supporting upcoming events can help by contributing items such as food and basic household supplies, hygiene products, clothing, blankets, or financial donations that help support outreach efforts and logistics.

Anyone interested in supporting future events, partnering with LAFTA, or making a donation to help seniors in Cameroon is encouraged to get in touch with the organization. Every contribution helps expand the reach of these programs and ensures that more seniors receive the support and recognition they deserve.

Through continued collaboration and generosity, LAFTA looks forward to organizing more events that bring hope, dignity, and care to seniors across Cameroon.
